RE: Letters to the Ministers of Education

15/11/2011 15:26

Good afternoon my mense

As I had promised yesterday that I will be sending an e-mail to the Minister of Basic Education, Minister Angie Motshekga and the Minister of Higher Education & Training, Minister Blade Nzimande, I encountered some hurdles that could never befit my determination. I searched via their respective departmental websites for their e-mail addresses and none were available, not even those of their Personal Assistants or Deputy Ministers. But to me I see that as a minor thing, as I will keep on searching until a breakthrough comes to light.

Just to fill you in on why I decided to send these honourable Ministers e-mails:

Having grown up in Guguletu, one of the many Cape Flats townships in the Western Cape, I have borne witness to the delapitating educational system over the years. Considering the fact that I am a parent as well and having heard the cries of many other parents who share the same sentiments as me, I then decided to place a "gambling" obligation on the 2 respective Ministers. With your support and input, it would have added weight to the challenge I was going to give the Ministry, the Presidency as well as the Provincial Cabinet handling educational issues within the Western Cape.

All hope is not lost though, as it stands there still is an opportunity for our cries as residents of all townships in and around the Western Cape (Nationally that is) to have our voices heard. Add your inputs, they will serve as the amunition required to see some action taking place for voicing our views.
